The key to life's greatest treasures

Meditation is the key to life's greatest treasures. It opens the inner treasure house that Jesus was speaking of when he said, "The Kingdom of Heaven is within you. First attain ye the Kingdom of Heaven and then all else shall be added to you." The Divinity that exists within you has always been there. It is eternal. In Buddhism they call it your Buddha Nature.

Zen is meditation. The word "zen" is a Japanese translation of the Chinese word "chan", which is the Chinese translation of the Indian sanskrit word "dhyan." "Dhyan" means meditation. The Indian Buddhist monk Bodhidharma took the teachings to China where he meditated in a cave on a mountaintop for 9 years. He is credited with being the founder of Zen and Kungfu. The Zen arts are tools for self-cultivation. They have their foundation in meditation and develop mindfulness in activity.

LEARN TO MEDITATE

MEDITATION INSTRUCTION

We offer individual and group instruction in meditation as well as weekend meditation retreats.


1) Introduction to Meditation Individual Instruction (voluntary donation)
This is a two-hour class that covers a variety of meditation techniques or new meditators.

Topics covered are concentration, contemplation, mantras, yantras and ways to establish a regular daily practice.

2) Intermediate Level Meditation Individual Instruction (voluntary donation)
This is a two-hour class that covers meditation techniques for meditators who want to deepen their practice.

3) Advanced meditation Instruction (private class - voluntary donation)

This is a two-hour class that covers advanced meditation techniques for experienced meditators.


4) Monthly Group Meditations (voluntary donation) 


5) Weekend Meditation Retreat
Spend the weekend relaxing and being inspired in the mountains at an altitude of 5,000 feet. Drink fine tea and enjoy delicious vegan meals. Meditation. Nature hikes. Stay in a local Bed & Breakfast or hotel. $250 (5pm Friday night to 3pm Sunday afternoon) limited to 10 people.
